1. Tell us about yourself and the creation of Maeva Rae.

Founded in 2021 by myself, Scarlet, in collaboration with my mother Frances, Maeva Rae was born from a desire to create luxury products that have scientifically backed, mood-enhancing benefits, while using only the most sustainable and locally sourced ingredients. A truly modern approach in this fast-moving wellness industry.

2. What was the motivation for creating your brand?

We inspired and motivated each other to launch Maeva Rae in 2022. After having worked in the beauty space for 30 years and creating her own award-winning beauty brand it was perfect timing for me to collaborate with my Mum on a wellness brand. We both have a huge passion for fragrance and the industry's need for more sustainable options in the beauty and wellness space.

3. Tell us about your approach to choosing and creating your products

We wanted to create products that were luxury quality without compromising on efficacy and sustainability. We strive to be as planet-friendly and eco-conscious as possible and will only ever manufacture in the UK.

4. Give us three words of wisdom for someone creating a new lifestyle/beauty brand?

Integrity, transparency and ethical.

5. Why do you think sustainability is so important in the beauty industry today?

Thankfully, there is a high awareness of how we need to protect our eco system. The beauty industry is now aware of this. It was important to us to tick every sustainable box.

6. What are the main challenges you face when creating a sustainable lifestyle brand?

Our main challenges were sourcing packaging and ingredients from companies that could offer fully sustainable options. All our sustainable options had longer timelines and came at a higher cost so these were also big challenges for us.

8. Which of your candles do you enjoy burning at home?

Frances' favourite is CALM which she likes to call her 'bath time best friend' whilst I like to indulge and include them all in my daily routine from the minute I wake up!

9. What makes MAEVA RAE unique?

We have created a gorgeous capsule collection of fragrances with a high percentage of essential oils at 10%. We are a vegan brand and have scientific validation from our fragrance house to support their mood boosting qualities. We have FSC certification and are 100% sustainable using soy wax, hemp wick, glass jar, recycled packaging and finally vegetable inks... ticking every box along the journey.

10. What is next for you?
